Jenny Brady, MSN, RN, CPNP, PMHS
Jenny Brady is a Virginia native that started her academic path at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, where she earned her B.S. in Psychology. She completed her B.S.N. at Johns Hopkins University, where she also served as class president. While there, she was the recipient of the Emma Beckwith Cullen Nursing Award, for the highest level of clinical and executive ability. Jenny spent many years working as a nurse in the pediatric neonatal intensive care unit and general pediatric floors at the Medical College of Virginia. She later completed her M.S.N. in pediatric and maternal health from the Virginia Commonwealth University.
Boarded by the Pediatric Nurse Credentialing Board, Jenny holds dual certifications in primary care pediatrics (CPNP) and as a pediatric mental health specialist (PMHS). Mrs. Brady is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She brings subspecialty training and work experience in pediatric dermatology and pediatric gastroenterology. With over 16 years of combined pediatric experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, she is able to provide the highest level of care to your child.
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Jenny enjoys orchids, yoga, singing, quilting, kayaking, and international travel.
Michelle Brooks, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Brooks Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Virginia Tech. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Her residency training in Pediatrics was completed at North Shore University Hospital / NYU School of Medicine where she served an additional year as Chief Resident. Dr. Brooks is a board Certified Pediatriican and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has worked in the northern Virginia area for 15 years with experience in pediatric emergency medicine as well as pediatric primary care. Dr. Brooks and her husband are raising three wonderfully active boys. In her spare time, she enjoys taking in their sporting events, running and traveling.
Stephen Welch, D.O., FAAP
Dr. Welch graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Liberty University, where he met his wife, Monika, a nursing major at the time. After medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Florida, he completed a combined Pediatric and Internal Medicine internship and residency at East Carolina University. Dr. Welch and his family served for two years at a charity hospital in Bangladesh with an aide group called Samaritan's Purse International Relief. Recently, he has divided his time mainly between Rural Physicians Group, providing inpatient care to critical access hospitals, and his family. Dr. and Mrs. Welch have five young children.
Kyon Hood, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Hood was a cum laude graduate in psychology and pre-med from Harvard University Extension School in Massachusetts prior to earning his Doctorate in Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada. In 2004, he completed his residency training in pediatrics at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to working full-time as a pediatric emergency room physician for the past 13 years, he founded and operated a private pediatric practice from 2007-2012. He moved to Fredericksburg in 2013 to become the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. With a vision of providing pediatric urgent care services to children in the Fredericksburg, Stafford & Spotsylvania communities, he co-founded PedsXpress in July 2014. Dr. Hood very much looks forward to caring for your child, should they need medical care.
